Custom Terrazzo Flooring for a Commercial Project in the Philippines

Custom Terrazzo Flooring for a Commercial Project in the Philippines

From client sample matching and custom terrazzo block production to precision cutting, quality control, and export delivery.

Project Overview

For this commercial project in the Philippines, YUSHI STONE supplied custom inorganic terrazzo flooring tiles developed according to the client's original physical sample.

The main challenge was not simply producing terrazzo tiles in a standard color. The material needed to closely reproduce the matrix color, aggregate particle size, chip distribution, and overall visual appearance of the client's sample while maintaining a consistent 28° low-gloss finish throughout production.

From initial sample analysis and recipe development to block casting, slab processing, precision cutting, quality inspection, packaging, and container loading, YUSHI STONE managed the complete custom terrazzo manufacturing process.

From Client Sample to Custom Terrazzo Flooring

01. Client Sample Analysis & Custom Recipe Matching

The project began with the client's physical terrazzo sample. Our technicians analyzed the aggregate particle sizes, matrix color, and chip distribution to develop a custom terrazzo formula that closely matched the original material.

A prototype sample was then produced for comparison and surface testing. The polishing process was adjusted until the required 28° natural low-gloss finish was achieved, providing a clear production standard before moving into full-scale manufacturing.

02. High-Pressure Vacuum Block Casting

After the custom formula was approved, aggregates, cement, and pigments were thoroughly mixed and formed into solid terrazzo blocks using high-pressure vacuum compaction technology.

The freshly pressed blocks remained in the mold for approximately 3–4 days, allowing sufficient curing and structural stabilization before demolding.

03. Block Drying & Gang-Saw Slabbing

After demolding, the terrazzo blocks were allowed to dry thoroughly before further processing.

Once stabilized, the large blocks were transferred to heavy-duty gang saws and cut into raw terrazzo slabs with controlled and consistent thickness, preparing the material for subsequent surface finishing and tile fabrication.

04. Continuous Polishing & 28° Gloss Control

The raw slabs were processed through an automated continuous polishing line. Multiple abrasive heads gradually ground and polished the surface to create a smooth and flat finish.

A key requirement of this project was maintaining the specified 28° gloss level. The surface finish was carefully monitored during production to ensure consistent visual appearance across the batch.

05. Precision Cutting to 1200 × 600 × 20 mm

After polishing, the slabs were transferred to infrared bridge cutting machines and fabricated into the client's required flooring size of 1200 × 600 × 20 mm.

Precision cutting helped maintain consistent dimensions, straight edges, square corners, and accurate alignment—important factors for large-format terrazzo flooring installation.

06. Detailed Quality Inspection

Before packing, the finished terrazzo tiles underwent detailed quality inspection.

Our QC team checked key factors including dimensions, diagonal accuracy, thickness tolerance, edge squareness, flatness, and surface condition, helping ensure consistency across the finished flooring materials before shipment.

07. Protective Export Packaging

Qualified tiles were separated with protective materials and wrapped with EPE pearl-cotton foam to reduce surface friction and impact during transportation.

The terrazzo tiles were then securely packed inside fumigated export wooden frames and reinforced with heavy-duty strapping for international shipment.

08. Container Loading & Export Delivery

The packed crates were transported to the port and systematically arranged inside the shipping container.

Timber bracing and wire tie-downs were used to reinforce the cargo and minimize movement during ocean transportation, completing the full production and export process for delivery to the Philippines.

Custom Terrazzo Manufacturing from Sample to Finished Product

For project-based terrazzo supply, achieving a consistent result requires more than simply cutting tiles to size. Color formulation, aggregate distribution, surface finish, dimensions, and batch consistency all need to be controlled throughout production.

For this Philippines project, YUSHI STONE managed the entire workflow—from 1:1 sample matching and custom recipe development to block production, slab polishing, precision cutting, QC, packaging, and international delivery.

This integrated approach allows us to support architects, contractors, developers, and commercial projects that require custom terrazzo flooring manufactured according to specific samples, colors, finishes, and dimensions.
